National Seminar: Recent
Challenges for Chemical Research and Practices: Moulding Chemistry towards a
better tomorrow.

The Department of Chemistry of
Darrang College, Tezpur is organizing a UGC Sponsored National Seminar on “Recent
Challenges for Chemical Research and Practices: Moulding Chemistry towards a
better tomorrow”, on Nov 9-10, 2012 in collaboration with Assam Science
Society, Tezpur Branch. The Honourable Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University,
Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri will inaugurate the seminar. The Honourable Vice
Chancellor of Gauhati University is expected to be the chief guest of the
inaugural session. Prof. S.K. Bhattacharjee, former Dean of Science and HOD of
the Department of Chemistry, Gauhati University has kindly given his consent to
deliver the key note address. Prof.
Dibakar Chandra Deka, HOD, Department of Chemistry, Gauhati University has been
invited as the guest of honour for the inaugural session. Dr. Jogan C.
Kalita, Director, College Development Council (GU) has kindly given his consent
to be the chief guest in the valedictory session.
There will be five technical
sessions covering the following sub themes of the seminar: Environmental Pollution & Green
Chemistry, Nanotechnology & Polymer Science, Surface Chemistry &
Catalysis, Biological Chemistry and Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry.
A series of invited lectures from eminent researchers will be the lime light of
the seminar. Apart from the book of abstract, the proceeding of the seminar
will be published with ISBN number. The

The organizers cordially invite
faculty, research scholars and students to participate in the seminar and present
their work on any of the sub themes. Participants are requested to submit their
abstracts (MS word, Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.0 line spacing, justified,
up to 200 words) including title (14, bold, centered), name of author (s),
author’s affiliation (s) (12, centered) and email id (10,centered) to the
convener. Soft copy of the abstract or full paper in CD or as email attachment
