DBT STAR COLLEGE SUPPORT

The Department of Chemistry, Darrang College is one of the six science departments of the institution covered under the prestigious DBT Star College Scheme. Through the implementation of the Scheme the department is benefited in the following areas:
i.                    The academic physical infrastructure has been developed with the induction of new instruments.
ii.                   Investigatory projects were introduced for developing the research aptitude of the students.
iii.                Students got exposure to research laboratories.
iv.                It became possible to organize outreach and extension activities.
v.                  New practical’s were designed and introduced.

 1. Date : 20/11/2012 , Event: General Awareness programme on clean drinking water at Porwah Village

2.  Date 20-9-2012  & 24-09-2012: Event: Training Programme on Use of Flame Photometry in detection of Na and K in soil and water samples.

3. Date 20-4-2013, Event: Popular Talk on Career in Chemistry, Delivered by Prof. Rana Hazarika.

4.  Date 23-10-2013, Event: International Mole Day Celebration.

5. Event: Meet the Expert Programme (Nov 2013 - Jan 2014).

6. Date: 5-01-2014: Event: Industrial Visit, Visit to Assam Cooperative Jute Mill, Silghat Assam.

7. Date 22-02-2014 to 27-02-2014: Event: Hand on practice on few Green Chemistry Experiments, Conducted by Dr B.C. Paul.

8. Date 21-04-2015, Event: Educational tour to the CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat.
